Dear Accountability Coach, I am a woman working in a professional setting with other women and I notice the little bickering that sometime occurs. How can I work with other women in a more harmonious way? A: Start by recognizing that you are all different and varied talented and that each of you should respect that difference and learn to appreciate the skills each brings to the office or task. Learn to encourage, affirm and support each other. You should not come off as rivals or amateurs competitors. In supporting each other that means being happy when another one succeeds and working along side each other with a focus to make her look good and you support by giving your best no matter the project. Avoid the stress of "cat-fights" which is what the world too often sees us as doing to each other. Television 'realilty' shows gives us such a bad image. We should know to support not hurt each other. Bring healing and not pain. Create an environment where all of you can safely discuss the tough topics without degrading or demeaning each other. When you come across as this type of person, you will find yourself the one they will come to for advice, guidance and words of hope. Get busy and show that together we can stand and divided we do no one any good. Pam, The Accountability Coach ©. copyright 2008, Advanced Consulting & Marketing Services. All rights reserved |
